The NIH does not have any specific pre-award or post-award requirements for PIs regarding safe and inclusive research environments, but it does have related reporting requirements for awardee institutions.
Effective July 9, 2022, the NIH requires that awardee institutions notify the NIH of disciplinary action of key personnel for harassment, bullying, retaliation, or hostile working conditions [ NOT-OD-22-129].
