Ethics at the Table (EAT)
An instructor from the RCR program will host a breakfast, lunch, or tea-time conversation in a place of your choosing (lab, seminar room, etc.). This can be an informal conversation or a formal presentation concerning any topic of research ethics in which the group has an interest.
Co-Teaching
An instructor from the RCR program will co-teach a class on any topic related to research ethics. This can be particularly helpful when faculty want to incorporate RCR content into an existing course but do not have experience or specialized knowledge on RCR topics. Importantly, the instructor of record must also participate in the instruction. This service is not to be used to cover a class when the instructor can is out of town.
Curriculum Consultation
Staff from the RCR program can work with individual faculty, program coordinators, and department chairs to integrate RCR into the syllabus of a particular course, or horizontally and vertically throughout a program. We can also evaluate current or planned RCR educational approaches and materials.
Training Plan Development
We provide assistance to PIs, programs, and departments in the development of RCR training plans to meet the funding requirements for certain federal programs (NSF, NIH, and USDA NIFA).
CITI Training Supplement
PIs who want to use the CITI on-line training modules in their RCR training plans can get help from RCR program staff in developing supplemental materials and activities.
Clubs
RCR program staff can assist with the planning and facilitation of an RCR journal club, book club, or movie club for any group. Possible books include Plastic Fantastic and The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks; possible movies and shows include The Dropout and The Stanford Prison Experiment.
